Daytime festival Piknic Electronik is set to launch in Dubai on February 28 at Dubai Sports City.
The family-friendly, all-day electronic music event launched in Barcelona in 2012 and has since travelled to Montreal and Melbourne, with further plans to launch in Madrid, Lisbon, Sydney and Santiago this year.
Other than live music from international and local DJs, the 1pm-10pm festival acts like a summer picnic with a menu of wraps, sandwiches, salads, burgers and the Montreal speciality, poutine (fries, gravy and cheese curds), as well as special lunch boxes for children.
The event include activities such as hula hoops, face painting, bouncy castles, yoga and Pilates classes.
“Piknic Electronik is a great place to meet up and enjoy beautiful weather and quality electronic music, all in a friendly and welcoming environment,” said Adam Fahim, co-founder of Piknic Electronik Dubai and founder of organising agency XWave Media.
During its first season in Dubai, the festival will take place on February 28, March 28, April 18 and May 9, with the next season set to kick off in November.
