It looks like 2017 is going to be the year of Bollywood remakes for filmmakers in Pakistan. After Arth – The Final Destination, Shaan Shahid’s contemporary take on the 1982 Hindi classic Arth, we now have seasoned producer-director Shehzad Rafique reworking Shekhar Kapoor’s Masoom (1982), except that this one is for the small screen.

Rafique is known to be a huge admirer of Indian filmmaker and poet Gulzar, and has also often dedicated his films to the latter. One of his films, Rukhsati, which starred Meera in the lead, was loosely inspired by Gulzar’s Ijaazat.

The official soundtrack for Rafique’s Masoom was recently released. And voila, it’s a reprise of the song Tujh Se Naraaz Nahin. The serial stars Resham, Yasir Nawaz and Sabreen.
