The first poster of Delhi Gate, a film by Nadeem Cheema, son of veteran actor Shafqat Cheema, was unveiled last week.

It generated a mixed response from people; some thought it was going to be a period film, set in the historical Delhi Gate in the Walled City of Lahore, while others were confused over the silhouettes of the couple meeting in an embrace in a contemporary fashion.

Cheema junior set the record straight, when he said that the film was a “modern love story, with a twist.” Perhaps, the twist is the unconventional setting of the film.

Interestingly, the film, which is still in its scripting stage, will also be shot in Malaysia and Dubai. The music is composed by Sanwal Khan.

Cheema’s previous project, Geo Sar Utha Kay, bombed at the box office. Delhi Gate is written by M. Kamal Pasha, and is slated for an Eid Al Fitr 2018 (June) release.
