After Anil Kapoor's questionable role in the blockbuster Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, it's the turn of Anupam Kher to make a Hollywood splash.

This October, the Saraansh star will share the silver screen with Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper in the drama The Silver Linings Playbook.

"It will be the proudest moment for an Indian. According to me this is the best role that an Indian has landed in a Hollywood film," said Kher who plays Cooper's therapist in the film.

However, he declined to be drawn into a debate whether Kapoor's role in the spy series was substantial enough to sit up and take notice or whether his role would fizzle out by the time it reaches the big screens.

"I have not seen the film but people who have seen it were not happy. But let's look at it like this: Anil was working with Tom Cruise, he was Cruise's best friend … But as far as my character goes, it will make Indians proud. I am an integral part of the story." Based on Matthew Quick's book of the same name, the film revolves around a former teacher (Cooper) who moves back with his mother and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife after having spent four years in a mental institution.

"It was a beautiful experience … it was unbelievable … Meeting Robert De Niro was unbelievable. When I met him first, I almost started crying," said Kher.

The 450-film-old actor, who has acted in several international ventures including Bend It Like Beckham, Bride And Prejudice and the TV series ER, was in Dubai to launch his book The Best Thing About You Is… You! at Book Plus in Lamcy Plaza on Tuesday.
