The stars may have been few but the smiles were many at the opening night of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival.

Clive Owen and Adrien Brody went out of their way to sign autographs and chat with fans as they made their way up the red carpet for Thursday night’s opening film Secretariat.

Brody, suave in a grey hat, laughed and joked with fans outside and even managed a few dance moves which had his audience in fits of giggles.

“In Abu Dhabi I feel a very warm welcome and I feel very embraced by the people here. The festival has grown and that’s very positive. I think they are helping film makers get a voice. Especially Arabic films which is wonderful

Brody, who also walked the red carpet last night (Fri) for the gala screening of his latest movie, Wrecked, was accompanied by his mother who took snaps as he entertained.

The last to arrive, Owen, who was in the capital earlier this year for the Laureus Sports Awards, was fashionably late but was also in good spirits. “I can’t wait to see this movie because I love horse racing,” he said. “It’s fantastic to be in Abu Dhabi again.”

Other celebrities who attended were Yousra, Wail Ramadan, Qusai Kholi, Suzane Nagme Eldine and Huda Hussain among others.

ADFF rund until October 23.
