Miss Teen South Carolina 2007

Former Miss Teen South Carolina Caitlin Upton tops the list as one of the most vacuous beauty queens when she humiliated herself during the 2007 Miss Teen USA contest.

In answer to the question “Recent polls have shown that one out of five Americans can't locate the US on a map. Why do you think that is?" she replied “I personally believe that US Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don’t have maps and that I believe our education like such as South Africa and the Iraq, and everywhere, such as, and I believe that they should our education over here in the US, should help the US, or should help South Africa and help the Iraq and the Asian countries so that we will be able to build out our future for us"

The YouTube video went viral soon after the contest.


Miss Hawaii 1992

Another geographically challenged contestant is Miss Hawaii Nadine Tanega at the Miss World American contest in 1992. She said: “"We are truly the land of the great. From the rock shores of... Hawaii... to the beautiful sandy beaches of... Hawaii... America is our home."
 


Miss Serbia 2003

At the Miss University 2003 pageant, confused soul Miss Serbia answered the question "If you could be either water or fire which would you be and why?" with "Well I'm a human being and I don't know how is it to be a fire or a water and for that reason, I really don't have an answer to that question. I'm a human being, a girl that has emotion that fire and water doesn't have"


Miss Philippines

It was quite clear what Miss Philippines Jeannie Anderson had in abundance when she answered the question “Would you rather be more smart, or more beautiful?” with "Well, I'd rather choose to be beautiful, um because, to be beautiful it's natural. But being smart you can learn... you can learn, um a lot of things... a lot of things from the experience... you can learn from a lot of things being smart."


Miss Panama 2009

Miss Panama 2009 created a whole new branch of philosophy when she was asked to explain the Confucius quote "Learning without thought is labor lost". She said: "Good evening, Panama.
