Oman LNG has signed a two-year agreement to supply Mitsubishi Corp with natural gas liquids (NGL) during the World Gas Conference in Tokyo. Mitsubishi was represented by Petro-Diamond Singapore Ltd, which is the operational division of the parent company.

Mitsubishi has chartered the NGL ship Belisaire to carry 20 to 24 cargoes (equivalent to about 180,000 metric tonnes each) of NGL annually from Oman.

These are Mitsubishi's first NGL cargoes from Oman, even though the Japanese company is a shareholder in Oman LNG and has long been engaged in crude oil trading here.

Masatoshi Nishizawa, Mitsub-ishi's senior vice-president and chief operating officer of the Petroleum Business Division, said: " We are delighted to enter into this agreement with Oman LNG which will enable us to continue to strengthen our downstream market position in Asia."

Signing the agreement on behalf of Oman LNG, Chairman Nasser Al Jashmi said: "We are extremely pleased about this deal and hope that the good relationship between our two companies will continue for a long time."
