Dubai: Dubai South announced on Tuesday the launch of new initiatives to attract investment and provide incentives to the private sector, mainly in industries of aviation, e-commerce, and logistics.
The initiatives are in line with the plan announced by the Dubai government earlier this month to stimulate economic growth and reduce the cost of doing business in the emirate.
Dubai South said in a statement its initiatives will be implemented immediately.
In the aviation sector, Dubai South said it will form a centre for private aircraft registration, working with the General Civil Aviation Authority to simplify private aircraft registration and the transfer of ownership of private aircraft.
Dubai South will also exempt planes from landing permit fees, and will ease the entry procedures for private plane passengers.
Additionally, Dubai South said it will develop an area for the e-commerce and logistics sectors to meet the requirements of companies in the industry and promote Dubai as an e-commerce hub.
Dubai South’s initiatives include cutting costs for companies and launching plans such as the ability to acquire combined licences issued by the Department of Economic Development and the Dubai South Free Zone.
