Cairo: Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak Tuesday appeared lying on a gurney for a trial session, the second in two consecutive days, at the Police Academy on the outskirts of Cairo.
Mubarak was brought from an army medical centre aboard an ambulatory helicopter into the court building, a recurrent scene since his trial began on August 3.
As he was pulled inside the courtroom on a stretcher, Mubarak, 83, showed no emotions.
He is facing charges of involvement in killing more than 840 protesters during a revolt that eventually toppled him in February.
Mubarak, who ruled Egypt for 30 years, is also charged with corruption. Eight defendants, including former interior minister Habib al-Adly and Mubarak's two sons, were brought from a prison near Cairo for Tuesday's session.
However, Ahmed Ramzy, a former security chief charged in the same case, failed to appear due to ill-health, according to court sources.
