Watch video: Saudi man held over street arson attempt

Cairo: Police in the Saudi capital Riyadh had arrested a citizen over a street arson attempt, Saudi media reported.

The man appeared in an online video covering his head with a plastic bag while dousing an inflammable substance around three cars parked outside a house and setting fire around them before fleeing in his car. The cars were not damaged, Okaz newspaper reported.

Police investigations revealed his act was due to an unspecified dispute with a son of the house owner, it added.

Police said the suspect was arrested, legal procedures taken against him and he was referred to public prosecution.
