Dubai: Security authorities have arrested four Saudi men for their involvement in murdering a Sudanese resident in Dammam four years ago, according to local media.

The suspects, who are in their 20s, were referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action. They remain in custody pending trial.

The murder happened on May 14, 2016 when four Saudi men stabbed the Sudanese man to death after a dispute over the road priority. The victim was driving his car on the streets of a neighbourhood in Dammam while the suspects were traveling in their vehicle.

They quarrelled with the Sudanese victim because he did not give them way. They stabbed him several times and ran over him. Then, they drove his car and escaped the scene

Captain Mohammed Fahd Al Duraihim, assistant media spokesperson for the Eastern Region Police, said the arrest comes after four years of criminal investigations and research to crack down on the murderers.

“After collecting the evidence of their involvement in the murder of the Sudanese resident as a result of a dispute over traffic priority. They assaulted the victim by stabbing him and then running over him and fleeing the scene with his vehicle,” Captain Al Durahim said.
