Muscat: A tribute concert to the legendary Indian ghazal singer Jagjit Singh, who died recently, will be held by the Indian Social Club at the Le Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel on Wednesday.

Jaswinder Singh, a prominent classical and ghazal singer, will pay the tribute by singing ghazals and popular Bollywood songs of Jagjit Singh.

Jagjit was regarded as the most successful recording artist outside the realm of Indian film music. He sung in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Sindhi and Nepali languages, and was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the President of India.

Jaswinder Singh has been awarded ‘The Young Ghazal Maestro' by Indian Music Academy. He is the son and student of music composer Kuldip Singh, and is the young ghazal maestro.

The young singer also specialises in Sufi and foot tapping Punjabi songs.
