Manama: Kuwait is to restrict family visit visas to the spouse and children of the applicant.
“The interior ministry has informed all the immigration directorates to limit the family visit applications by all expatriates in Kuwait to the spouse and children, and not to consider applications for other relatives,” sources told local news site Al Aan.
The ban applies to Arab and non-Arab nationalities, the sources said.
The decision was reportedly taken based on the difficult living and security situations in some countries.
“The immigration directorates have received thousands of family visit applications to bring in mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers, which has resulted in their accumulation,” the sources said. “The ban means that the applications will be discarded.”
