Manama: A Bahraini court on Tuesday sentenced a man to 10 years in prison for attacking a Briton with a sword and severing two of his fingers.

His brother was given six months in jail for his role in covering up the crime.

The British man, Peter Morrissey, 51, was attacked in a village as he drove towards Budaiya Highway in February.

He was forced out of the car by masked youths at around 2 am.

According to reports, Morrissey lived in Bahrain but worked in Saudi Arabia.
