Jakarta, Indonesia:  A local official says heavy rain has caused floods in the
Indonesia part of Borneo, killing two people and leaving two other missing.

The official from the provincial Search and Rescue Agency said the flood began
on Friday as the Satui River in Tanah Bumbu District in South Kalimantan overflowed its
banks after days of incessant rain.

He said two bodies had been discovered on Saturday while rescuers continued the search for the missing.

Local media reports the floods have affected a total of 3,198 families, some of whom
have been evacuated to safer areas.

Landslides kill dozens of people every year in the vast tropical archipelago of
Indonesia.
