Dubai: While the news of UK’s royal baby was confirmed today, another rumour about a baby has just been squashed and social media users are slightly relieved.

For the past week, rumours about Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis player Sania Mirza have been circulating online, with many sharing an image of a baby boy that Mirza had allegedly delivered.

The two announced Mirza’s pregnancy in April on their official twitter accounts and she is due to deliver this month. But, social media users assumed she had become a mum when fake images of a baby, who was apparently her son, started circulating online. Malik put an end to all the rumours.

On his official twitter account, @realshoaibmalik, he posted: “We will do a proper announcement when the kid decides to arrive, please keep us in your Duas (prayers) and don’t believe everything you see/read on the internet please!”

Tweeps from both India and Pakistan were relieved that they hadn’t missed out on the big announcement.

@saif_10ali tweeted: “Thankfully you confirmed! Insha Allah everything will be okay. Lots of love and prayers from India.”

Tweep @sawerapasha posted: “Seems like more than you guys the world is waiting for the arrival of the baby. Good luck! Praying for @MirzaSania.”

@SidraaaShoaib added: “Yes, we are waiting Insha Allah and not trusting anyone other than you two!”

Following his tweet, prayers and wishes started pouring in for the expecting couple.
