Abu Dhabi: Trained marriage-officiating clerks will now visit couples who wish to get married in Abu Dhabi so that the marriage contract can be finalised wherever the couple wishes, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department announced in a statement on Saturday.
The department's clerks will fill out all relevant data about the couple on to the judiciary department's computerised system, eliminating the need for the couple to visit the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department with their families to get their marriage contract and paperwork finalised.
The marriage contract can then be picked up at from the judiciary department at a later date.
In addition to increasing efficiency, the new computerised system is aimed at reducing paperwork at the department, the announcement said.
