Dubai: Dubai Traffic Police confiscated 580 driving licences last year from drivers who had incurred 24 or more black points, a decrease from the 715 confiscated last year.

Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Dubai Traffic Police, said that of the 580 motorists, 244 were Emirati, 159 Pakistani, 124 Indian, and 224 of other nationalities.

In 2013, of the 715 confiscated licenses, 239 were that of Emiratis, 123 Pakistanis, 117 Indians, and 245 were confiscated from people of other nationalities.

He added that there were 8,495 motorists who either parked in a handicapped parking without a permit or in front of a fire hydrant.
