Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has said the ‘Strategy of Resolve’ announced by Saudi Arabia and the UAE is a historic cohesive step towards the future for both countries.
Shaikh Mohammad made the comments on his Twitter account on Friday following the announcement of a joint vision for economic, developmental and military integration through 44 joint strategic projects by the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council.
“The UAE’s and Saudi Arabia’s announcement of a joint vision for economic, developmental and military integration through 44 joint strategic projects is a historic opportunity to create an exceptional model of Arab integration, a model that can be replicated to achieve developmental leaps for peoples,” Shaikh Mohammad tweeted.
“Saudi Arabia and the UAE through their Coordination Council led by Mohammad Bin Salman and Mohammad Bin Zayed along with 350 officials from the two countries embark on a new era in the history of the region to create a new developmental and economic movement that will be a springboard for the economy of the entire region,” he tweeted.
The council’s vision aims to promote the two countries’ global stature in areas of economy, human development, and political, security and military integration as well as ensuring welfare and happiness for their people.
Established under an agreement between the two countries reached in May 2016 under the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, the council stands as a role model for cooperation between world countries and, in the meantime, consolidates joint action between GCC states.
A total of 350 government officials from different fields prepared the Strategy of Resolve in 12 months.
The strategy outlines three main areas of cooperation: economic, human and knowledge; political; and security and military.
The announcement of the strategy came during the first meeting of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council on Wednesday chaired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Council for Economic Affairs and Development.
The council seeks to ensure synergy between the two sides on achieving joint initiatives conducive to providing job opportunities, boosting the GDP and accelerating bilateral investments.
The council seeks to develop a joint vision to deepen bilateral relations in line with the objectives set by the Gulf Cooperation Council in order to strengthen economic integration between the sides and develop innovative solutions for the optimum utilisation of resources while building an efficient and integrated education system premised on grooming qualified national generations.
