The Al Shaab senior football team continued training at the Khalid bin Mohammed stadium in Sharjah under the team's new Yugoslav coach, Zoran Filipovic who arrived here on a one-year contract two days ago.

Zoran succeeded Sweden's Andersson, who trained the team last season. Al Shaab finished fifth in the league in Division 1.

Ibrahim Buhair, the Al Shaab football manager and Juma Mattar the assistant coach arrived yesterday from Germany after checking the venue for the external training camp starting next week.

Al Shaab are yet to sign up their foreign players to succeed Moroccan Abdul Rahim Shoklait and Sheikh Diop of Senegal who played with the club last season. Iranian player Yazdany trained with the team during the last few days, but didn't convince the coach.

The club is still on the lookout for new foreign professionals for the new season.

Meanwhile, Al Shaab's under-18 football team left yesterday for Hungary for a three-week training camp in preparation for the new season.

Redha Abbas is heading the youth delegation to Hungary along with manager Rashid Suroor, coach Mohammed Saeed Bo Zingal and a squad of 32 players.
