Brigadier Mohammad Al Suwaidi, Director of the Punitive Establishment, said the new building was considered a qualitative leap in terms of dealing with inmates, as it combines detention with humanity.

He said the move was smooth and inmates had started feeling the positive effects of the new building, as it was bigger and had recreational facilities.

Brigadier Al Suwaidi said administrative staff underwent a month's training before using the new and developed security system being used in the prison.
