Dubai: Planning to visit the Expo 2020 Dubai but not sure where to start? The Expo’s official smartphone app is here to help.

The app ‘Expo 2020 Dubai’, which is available for Apple and Android devices, allows you to buy tickets, check the extensive events calendar and browse pavilions, but you can also personalise your own Expo journey on the app.

How to register on the app

Once you have downloaded the app, you will first be asked to select your preferred language – English or Arabic. After that, you will need to allow the app to track your location.

Just so you will be able to track your saved journeys, it is recommended to sign up first. This account is also going to come in handy for booking your tickets.

To register with Expo 2020 on the app, follow these steps:

1. Launch the mobile app and tap the right-most icon to access ‘My Profile’.

2. Select the ‘Log in or Register’ orange tab to get started.

3. Enter your email address and click confirm.

4. Type in your full name and preferred password.

5. Activate your account by clicking on the link sent to your email inbox.

Now that you are registered, you can sign in to take full advantage of the app. These are the services provided:

Buy tickets

The app allows you to book tickets, with all the options available, including season passes, multiple day passes or family packages.

Pavilions

With over 200 pavilions participating in Expo 2020 Dubai, you might be wondering what each one has to offer before you plan your visit. The app lists Expo’s pavilions in alphabetical order, and when you tap each, it will present you with an overview of the Thematic District you can find the pavilion in, the timings and what to expect. Here, you also have the option to tap the heart icon and add it to your favourites.

Eating options

The app also lists all the outlets that have set up at Expo, along with the distance from you (based on your location settings being enabled), type of cuisine, restaurant timings, etc.

Events

The Expo calendar is packed with events, so if you are struggling with trying to stay on top of the schedule, the app can help you find out the events based on dates, the category under which they are organised or even ticket prices.

Create a personalised journey

Perhaps the most interesting feature of the app is that it allows you to customise your Expo 2020 journey, based on what you are most interested in. The app will ask you about when you are planning to visit, whether you are visiting with family, friends or on your own, and what your interests are.
