The man behind films like Roop ki Rani Choron ka Raja, Tere Naam and Shaadi Se Pehle has a food outlet, Khana Unlimited, at L 13, Connaught Place, which is unlike other celebrity eating joints.

"Most restaurants facilitate the elite and serve continental food, but our place is focused on the common man, where a person can eat pure vegetarian food to his heart's content for just Rs99 (Dh8)," says the actor and director.

Also, children under 3 feet in height are entitled to a meal for Rs59 (Dh5)," he elaborates.

Hip and happening

When his friend and business partner Manoj Mittal one day suggested that they open a restaurant, the idea
appealed to Kaushik. The concept was simple: to serve their fellow patrons unlimited good food for a fixed amount hence the name Khana Unlimited.

The décor of Khana Unlimited is reminiscent of a movie theatre. Posters of Hindi films adorn the walls along with a huge TV screen showing movie trailers of all the latest new releases.

Expanding

The cinematic theme is carried on to the first floor which features more posters from Kaushik's films.

The eatery has already become the talk of the town - a happening place for people to get together for parties or just hang out.

Since the returns at his outlet have been good, the filmmaker has decided to open a chain of outlets in different cities including Mumbai. And possibly Dubai in the near future.

Eating establishments seem to be the latest fad in the city, but this one definitely stands out from the rest.

The Delhi star has invested not only financially but creatively to produce a unique restaurant that's open to all.
