Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter and Mike Colter joined Finn Jones during his Iron Fist panel for a big New York Comic Con surprise. It was the first time Marvel’s new Defenders were together in public, and they brought along a big bad villain: Sigourney Weaver.

Executive vice-president of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb announced the arrival of the new Marvel gang — Daredevil (Cox), Jessica Jones (Ritter), Luke Cage (Colter) and Iron Fist (Jones) — but was mum on who or what role Weaver would be playing, teasing only that it would be “significant.”

Meanwhile, Jones’ Iron Fist panel debuted footage from the next Marvel and Netflix series, teasing bits of the superhero’s origin story.

Other surprises in the Marvel panel included appearances by actors Erik LaRay Harvey, who played the nefarious Diamondback in the recently released Luke Cage series. He arrived onstage moments after someone yelled, “Can you dig it?” over the mic, naturally.

Jon Bernthal, who appeared as Frank Castle (the Punisher) in the previous Daredevil series also popped by to announce that Daredevil actress Deborah Ann Woll would be reprising her role as Karen Page on the Punisher series spin-off.

There’s still no date for The Defenders series, but Iron Fist will premiere in March.
