Abu Dhabi: The Chill & Grill Brunch at Nahaam in the Jumeirah Etihad Towers is fast gaining the reputation of being the best in town. I can see why. Just like the glittering crystal balls that greet you as you enter the lobby, the spread is as sparkling.

There’s a bit for everyone here. If you are a seafood lover you can dig into salmon cooked in different ways: There’s the smoked variety, a poached version mixed cleverly in cold salads and cured ones for the picking. Same goes for scallops, shrimps and oysters.

My companion and I began our meal with laksa soup that was flavourful all the way. Combine it with some cold appetisers and salads such as marinated baby eggplant with sundried tomato and pine nuts, rocket leaves and Confit Roma Tomato tartar with Bocconcini and its heavenly.

Next on our list were the hot counters. From shawarmas to stir-fried beef with chilli sauce, there was a myriad of cooking stations to choose from. World on a plate is how I would sum up the main courses. Delicacies from around the world including a rather crispy Peking Duck and the ultimate comfort food - a gigantic juicy burger tailored to your liking - make an appearance here. There is also an abundance of grilled varieties and a pasta corner.

Another plus for this brunch is that even though the restaurant exudes a chic vibe, there’s a corner dedicated to children. A popcorn vending machine, mini burgers and delicious mini cakes are sure to win the mini brigade.

But the best is reserved for the last. The dessert table is impressive to say the least. A giant slice of the carrot cake was just a beginning of the sweet decadence. Mini-sized treats made of chocolate, strawberry and passion fruit will make sure that you don’t just stop with one. Just chill and enjoy.
