As my Editor rushed to me with a piece of paper, I realised he was going to take notes on this one. Spiderman is one of my favourite superheroes; more relatable, than say, Thor with his war hammer and almost impossible handsomeness.

UAE-wide release of the movie is on July 6, Thursday.

So what makes this Spiderman different from the ones Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s played?

This one is quite different as we see a Spiderman trying to prove himself. He’s not a full-strength superhero yet - maybe because he is only 15 and has to learn under the very strict guidance of Tony Stark.

Did they get the casting right this time?

As you know from the trailers, the cast is extremely young. Peter Parker is 15 in the movie, portrayed by Tom Holland who’s actually 21. Aunt May is young too. This meme explains everything.

This Spiderman, the guy and the movie, is a bit too young or childish in comparison to the previous renditions. But considering it independently, it isn’t a bad kind of childish.

What’s the main thing about Spiderman that is worth mentioning?

He’s shown to be really strong. They have played up his strength; which makes sense, since he’s literally one of the strongest Marvel characters out there. Some can argue that he’s stronger than Captain America or even Hulk in certain situations (he almost killed Hulk with his bare hands in one of the comics).

And what about the villain?

The main villain isn’t very great when compared to villains in the previous Spiderman movies. I am one of those people who appreciate a really strong and cruel villain in movies. You get a sense that The Vulture (called 'flying vulture thingy' by Spiderman in many scenes) isn’t truly a cruel person.

Overall production and cinematography?

All superhero movies are a bit over-the-top, well, being superheroes and all. But this movie does it right in terms of looking as real as possible with well-shot action scenes and futuristic tech gadgets.
