Dubai: Emiratis say they are proud of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their country in Yemen.

Four Emirati soldiers died on Tuesday in the City of Aden when a hotel and other buildings in the southern Yemeni city were targeted in multiple terrorist attacks.

The soldiers were among 15 members of the Saudi-led coalition and Yemeni troops who died.

Emiratis expressed their condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers and their gratitude for the martyred soldiers’ sacrifice.

“The sacrifice they made was admirable and honourable. It makes me grateful to have dedicated members of our society who want the benefit and best security for our country and region,” said Ahmad Bin Al Shaikh, 25, who works at the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.

Al Shaikh, who is planning to join the compulsory military service in January to serve his country, said he is aware of the significance of the soldiers’ sacrifice.

“I praise the families for having such dedicated sons and my sincere condolences to them and I hope Allah keeps them strong to overcome their loses,” he said.

Amal Mohammad, 31, from Kalba, who works in the health sector, also said she is thankful for the soldiers’ sacrifice.

“They are fighting for our security and we are very grateful. I pray that God rewards the soldiers in heaven and gives patience to their families to deal with this loss,” she said.

Amal said the soldiers’ sacrifice is the biggest proof that the people of the UAE will stop at nothing to serve their country.

Another Emirati, Saif Al Ali, 28, who works in the banking industry, said he is sorry for the families’ loss but is proud of the soldiers’ sacrifice. “Emiratis are proud of their soldiers; they fought and died for our country. It is something that we all aspire to achieve. It is a noble way to die,” he said.
