Dubai: The pandemic may have put a halt on your trip to France, but here’s some good news – Dubai is bringing France to you. Visit the Notre-Dame exhibition at the France Pavilion when Expo 2020 begins on October 1, 2021.
What is the Notre-Dame?
Notre-Dame de Paris, more commonly known as Notre-Dame, is a cathedral that dates back to 1345.
What is the Notre-Dame de Paris exhibition?
A virtual immersion into the historical monument, the France Pavilion will showcase the history of the cathedral and its evolution, from its construction to now. The exhibition will embrace the technology of Augmented Reality.
What will I be able to see in this exhibition?
Visitors equipped with a HistoPad tablet (developed by Histovery) at the pavilion, will be able to delve into an interactive and immersive process where they will be able to witness the construction of the cathedral in the Middle Ages.
Apart from this, they will also be able to see the coronation of Emperor Napoleon the First, the construction of the Viollet-le-Duc spire and the reconstruction work done to conserve the monument after the 15-hour fire broke out in 2019.
Presenting as a preview in Dubai, the exhibition will foreshadow the augmented exhibition "Notre-Dame de Paris" scheduled in Paris, next year.
The exhibition will be the first of five temporary exhibitions, and will be held at the France Pavilion at Expo 2020 from October 1, 2021 to November 1, 2021. The other exhibitions include 'The French way of life, a dream to share', 'Chromosaturation Room', 'La Société du Grand Paris', and 'From A to Z: the Jean Paul Gaultier primer'.
