Dubai: I’m with Russell - People do need to stop by once a while to laugh at themselves. Or as the 4,000-plus UAE fans - that had gathered at the Dubai World Trade Centre - would have it, let someone else do it for you.

A word of caution though - he will pick on you irrespective of who you are and what you look like. Case in point - the guy in the gold seating area named Obada or as Russell put it 'an Obama with a D'. He probably thought he had the best view. So to anyone who is upset about not getting tickets to the best seats, breathe a sigh of relief - you are not in his line of fire.

Also, South Indians please beware - jokes on your skin tone may not go down 'lightly' with you. But just for laughs, you guys were the highlight of the evening.

And while new one-liners featured in his act, it was the impromptu insults that kept the crowd on its toes. You'd be glad you weren't the fat guy in the red-striped shirt or 'stretch marks' as he put it.

The act was fresh, insanely funny and clever and in some instances reminded us that despite all odds, we are all 'one people'.

Do watch out for his 'Kashmir' sweater joke - its Russell's observation for the reason why India and Pakistan divided. Classic.

It would have helped though if he wasn't so conscious about keeping a time check. He glanced at his watch. Twice.

'I laughed so hard, my jaws hurt. But I can't remember the last time I laughed so much. He is the king,' Katherine Wright, an Abu Dhabi resident said. She had taken off from work 'just to be on time for the show'.
