Seems like Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Waadi Communications that produced the first two films of the successful 3 Bahadur series might have some serious competition at home. Reportedly, Geo Films and Talisman Animation Studios have come together to release an animated movie, titled The Donkey King.
If its 50-second trailer is anything to go by, the film promises to be good fun for the children, though the makers claim that it shall appeal to people of all ages. S
tarring Afzal Khan and Mehwish Hayat (as voice actors), the film also touches some relevant social issues.
As director Aziz Jindani puts it, “Donkey King is an attempt to redefine the animation film genre in Pakistan. [But] It will transcend the category by appealing to children and the child within every adult.”
