Singer Lulu has told how she was mesmerised by David Bowie’s “slim but powerful” thighs when they dated in the 1970s — but too shy to accept when Frank Sinatra made her an unexpected proposal.
In an interview this week with The Mail on Sunday’s EVENT magazine, the 1960s icon talks frankly about her relationships with a string of showbusiness legends.
The 66-year-old singer, who was 26 when she started dating the Space Oddity star after her divorce from Bee Gee Maurice Gibb, said: “I had a small window when I was involved with Bowie. His thighs were long and slim but muscly. They were strong even though he was emaciated. I often think that he had similarly shaped thighs to Naomi Campbell.”
Lulu also tells how when she was just 20, Frank Sinatra asked her to come over so he could show her some “warm-up exercises” for her voice, but she didn’t take up the offer. She said: “I was hopeless at pushing myself forward. Mind you, I was on a cloud. Sinatra had kissed me.”
