Actress Priyanka Chopra says she once slapped a fan for allegedly misbehaving with her when she was shooting for 2010 romance Anjaana Anjaani.

“I slap a lot. I think once a fan misbehaved with me, I don’t know if he was a fan, but I came out of my trailer when I was shooting for Anjaana Anjaani... He just came and held my arms.

“I am very good with taking pictures and everything but I don’t like physically being touched. So he just held my hand and started asking for pictures. I got really scared so I grabbed his collar and slapped him. Then I got so scared, I ran away,” she told reporters in Mumbai.

Chopra was speaking at the trailer launch of Jai Gangaajal, where she plays a Superintendent of Police, Abha Mathur.

Jai Gangaajal, directed and co-produced by Prakash Jha, is about Abha, who takes on some powerful and influential men in her district.

The actress said the most important aspect to her role was being feminine yet tough.

“As a woman it is very important to celebrate womanhood and yet be in a position of authority. I enjoyed playing the part. It was very different for me,” Chopra said.

According to Chopra, the film, which also stars Jha, Manav Kaul, Rahul Bhat, Murli Sharma and Ninand Kamath, will touch on relevant issues in society.

“Nobody talks about the relevance of what the film speaks about. Farmer suicides, corruption within society and politics... We have given importance to these issues in the film to show what really goes around. It is a very relevant and important film,” she added.
