Dubai: The UAE has added another country to the list of destinations where its citizens can travel to without applying for a visa in advance.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced on Tuesday that UAE nationals holding diplomatic, private and regular passports can make visa-free visits to the Republic of Tajikistan.
Tajikistan is a Central Asian destination known for hiking and climbing.
States news agency WAM reported that Tajikistan’s ministry of foreign affairs has sent a diplomatic memorandum that details the decision to grant UAE citizens entry visa upon arrival.
Al Dhaheri said the move reflects the stature attained by the UAE and contributes to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
It is also expected to boost tourism and trade between the UAE and Tajikistan.
The UAE passport has been ranked the most powerful in the Arab world, with its citizens enjoying the privilege to travel to nearly 130 countries, either visa free or by securing an entry permit upon arrival.
The latest index by Arton Capital, which ranks passports around the world according to their cross-border access, ranked the UAE passport as the 56th most powerful in the world.
The UAE also has the best passport for the rich in the Arab region.
