London: Engineering consultancy Hyder Consulting yesterday earmarked Saudi Arabia as a region it expects will be key to driving future sales growth, given the country's continued economic growth and investment.

The firm, which worked on the Burj Khalifa, said it expects growth in revenue coming from the Middle East, following a reshaping of its client base, with work from Saudi Arabia set to drive the gains.

"In the first half we've been investing in our presence in Saudi Arabia and we've got a good brand there. While the economy is growing by about 3 per cent, the construction sector there is growing by 7 per cent, so there's a real opportunity to grow our strong position," Chief Executive Ivor Catto said.

The firm has operated in Arab countries for more than 45 years and said it is now trying to win big infrastructure contracts in Saudi Arabia, given the region's ongoing growth.
