SES subsidiary, Fujairah-based Seacor Environmental Services Middle East (SESME), will begin a multi-phased development programme to establish a fully functional oil spill response centre in the Gulf.

Abdullah Nasser Al Suwaidi, deputy CEO and exploration and production director of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), and Randall Blank, president and CEO of Seacor Environmental Services (SES), endorsed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two companies for the centre.

The SESME Oil Spill Response Centre will be located on the Mussaffah Channel in Abu Dhabi, with direct access to a deep water jetty, the international road system and the Abu Dhabi International Airport. The SESME centre opens with a capability to provide oil spill response equipment, skilled manpower and response related training services to all interested parties in the Gulf.

Blank presented plans for the inauguration of the new centre and further defined SESME's primary objective to provide professional response services in the Gulf through access to their vast inventory of international response resources.
