Dubai: Emirates NBD’s new branch and the Future Lab at Emirates Towers brings the future of banking services closer to people. It is real to see, touch and feel.

Across three zones such as the advisory banking zone, digital zone and a future zone the branch gives a first-hand experience of banking innovations and digital offerings that are already available or are in the pipeline.

Advisory Banking

This zone is dedicated for customers to interact with relationship managers and customer service teams on personal finance and wealth management planning as well as issues and enquiries. The contemporary looking banking space is fitted with tablets that will provide updates on the latest Emirates NBD products and services as well as current events in the UAE.

Digital Banking

In this zone customers can bank via Emirates NBD’s new generation interactive teller machines (ITM), a first to market innovation that offers a personalised banking experience via a video personal teller. The ITM elevates the traditional ATM experience by incorporating a real time video connection that enables customers to interact with a teller, similar to a branch experience, without timing limitations or queuing. The bank intends to introduce 8 ITMs this year and take it to 20 by the end of next year.

Future Banking Zone

This area is an innovation showcase where customers can experience the latest breakthroughs in banking and payment technology. The futuristic beta-concept exhibits include The Future of Shopping by MasterCard and the Connected Car by Visa.

The Future of Shopping by MasterCard allows customers to identify items within various immersive experiences using virtual reality glasses and then buy them without leaving the virtual world. Visa’s Connected Car of the future has the ability to integrate various day-to-day payment transactions into a seamless, hassle-free experience.

The space also showcases a beta personal voice banking assistant with the ability to recognise a customer’s voice and take instructions to carry out various transactions such as schedule a payment, transfer money or provide an update on account balance.

Powered by SAP technology, Really! provides home seekers with an immersive, information rich experience by bringing an integrated view of the property along with relevant banking information to help makean informed choice for their realty investment

This zone also features Pepper a robotic assistant. Developed by Softbank Robotics, Pepper is the first humanoid robot capable of recognising principal human emotions and adapting his behaviour to the mood of his interlocutor. Emirates NBD has integrated the robot with the bank’s systems, allowing customers to get service tokens from Pepper using natural voice recognition. Pepper is linked to Dubai Government’s Happiness Meter to enable customers to assess the quality of his service.
