Abu Dhabi: Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has announced a 50 per cent discount on billing to facilitate settlement of old dues, the company said.

The company added that it had allocated a team to communicate with customers, address debts of troubled customers and created a special unit to ensure facilitating payment of past dues to the company. The company explained that old dues were invoices issued since 2017, which customers were unable to clear.

This initiative comes as a community drive, especially with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company said in a statement.

STC had earlier launched many initiatives and discount schemes on many of its services provided to individuals and businesses, but the latest move is the largest in the company’s history.
