Ramallah: A bi-national state for Jews and Arabs to replace the state of Israel in the historic Palestine is heavily spreading and gaining support in wide segments of Israeli and Palestinian youth, according to a top Fatah official.
Those in favour of a bi-national state have campaigned that neither armed struggle nor diplomacy has been successful in establishing a Palestinian state.
"We have solid belief in a bi-national state in historic Palestine is the only possible solution for the conflict," Najat Abu Baker, a top Fatah official told Gulf News.
In the 1970s, Palestinian leadership was talking about a bi-national state, however, when the international community promised them with an independent state, they shifted focus.
January 26 is the final deadline for Israelis to submit their proposals on the issues of borders and security arrangements, as set out by the Mideast Quartet. The Palestinians have already submitted their proposals.
