Sana'a: A total of 10 Al Qaida suspects, including a Saudi man, have been arrested in the Yemeni eastern province of Mukalla, where they were planning terrorist acts.
The Saudi man was identified as Abdullah Faraj Mohammad (Abu Ebrahim). He was wanted by both Yemeni and Saudi authorities, according to the website for the Yemen Ministry of Defence on Sunday.
Two of the men were arrested last Monday when the Yemeni security forces stormed a hideout of Al Qaida in the Fuh area, west of Mukalla city.
Eight more suspects were arrested during the hunt, which followed Monday’s raid in which two soldiers were killed and three others were wounded.
The eight men escaped to an area in Hudhrmout called Wadi Al Mutadhririn where they were taken into custody by police.
Earlier security forces had found an explosive belt and important documents which provided information about the plans and activities of the group.
