Abu Dhabi: A young Saudi man has been arrested on charges of vandalism after destroying a speed radar in Al Qassim povince, police said.

The police managed to identify the suspect involved in the criminal tampering and destruction of a speed radar on a road in Saudi Arabia’s central province of Al Qassim, filming the offence and posting footage on social media, Lieutenant Badr Al Suhaibani, spokesperson of Al Qassim Police, said.

The suspect, in his 20s, was remanded in police custody as legal measures were taken to refer him to the public prosecution for further questioning and trial on charges of deliberate vandalism and destruction of public property and posting the offence on social media, police said.
