Dubai: If a worker refuses to leave the kingdom after the employer has obtained a final exit visa for him/her, what do you do? The Saudi General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has explained the procedure.

According to the Ajel News Portal, Jawazat highlighted the need for the employer to follow-up on the worker’s departure after being granted a final exit visa.

It called on the employer who does not know the location of the sponsored worker, to report the case and cancel the visa. A report of absenteeism (Huroob) must be registered, Jawazat added.

The General Directorate of Passports clarified that five conditions must be met before registering the case (Huroob notification) via the Absher platform. They include:

1. The residence permit (Iqama) should be valid.

2. The notice of absence should be done once per sponsored worker or person.

3. The absent notification cannot be cancelled from the Absher platform, but rather by visiting the expatriate department within 15 days of the date of the report.

4. If the Huroob report exceeds 15 days, it will not be cancelled, the worker will be placed on the watch list, and will be deported and barred from entering the kingdom.

5. There should not be a final exit visa issued for the worker.
