Cairo: Saudi Arabia will host Wednesday a first-of-its-kind global artificial intelligence (AI) summit under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman who will address the two-day event.

The virtual summit is organised by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) under the theme: “Artificial Intelligence for the good of humanity”. The event will open with an address from the Saudi crown prince to be delivered on his behalf by SDAIA Abdullah bin Sharaf Al Ghamdi.

During the summit, Saudi Arabia is due to announce its national strategic for data and artificial intelligence that King Salman bin Abdulaziz has recently approved, according to the Saudi online newspaper Sabq.

The event will bring together decision-makers, experts, corporate executives and investors in economic AI applications.

Its agenda features key AI topics including shaping a new era; AI and leadership; AI governance; and AI future. They will be tackled through keynote speeches, discussion sessions, debates and interactive activities.

The summit will seek to come up with specific recommendations on how to draw up effective national AI strategies in the post-COVID-19 era, formulating visions on AI creativity and investment trends.
