Dubai: Kuwaiti security authorities have arrested a young Kuwaiti man who tried to kill his mother with a knife after breaking into her apartment in Al Salmiya area of the Hawalli Governorate.
Officers arrived at the scene after receiving a report of an attempted murder in which a young man was trying to kill his mother. Security officers managed to control the man and convince him to drop the knife.
Upon investigation, the suspect, a former policeman at Kuwait’s Interior Ministry, told interrogators that he had done so because he dreamed of his mother practicing black magic.
The suspect said he intended to kill his mother to stop her from practicing witchcraft.
The mother, however, refused to file a case against her son, who was dismissed from his job as a police officer in February. She told police that her son is receiving addiction treatment at a rehabilitation hospital.
