Cairo: A fire broke out in a building in Bahrain, leaving one woman dead, the Interior Ministry has said.

Civil defence teams along with nine vehicles rushed to the scene of the building in the area of Sanabis in Bahrain’s Northern Governorate Saturday night. The fire in the office building was later put out.

A 44-year-old woman died and nine others were rescued, including two who sustained burns and breathing problems, the ministry added in a statement.

Procedures were taken to determine the cause of the fire.

The dead woman was an African migrant worker, according to Bahraini newspaper Al Bilad.
