Dubai: The total coronavirus infections in Bahrain has jumped to 22,407 after 643 people tested positive, the Kingdom’s Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday.
The new cases were detected after conducting 7,927 new COVID-19 tests in the past 24 hours, which also takes the overall tests done so far to 485,715.
Among today’s cases, 371 were detected among expatriate workers, while 262 were found to have been exposed to active cases. Additionally, 10 cases are travel-related.
The ministry has also reported 443 new recoveries from COVID-19, increasing total recoveries to 16,862.
One more death has also been confirmed, pushing the Kingdom’s death toll to 66.
“The Ministry of Health announces the death of a 91-year-old male citizen from COVID-19, and expresses its condolences to the family of the deceased,” the ministry tweeted.
There are currently 148 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 37 are in a critical condition; 5443 cases are stable out of a total of 5480 active cases.
