Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi confirmed that he will be marrying actress Naimal Khawar Khan and their wedding ceremony will be taking place on August 25, after an image of their wedding invitation circulated online.
The news came as a surprise for fans and people in the entertainment industry alike as there was no discussion in the past of Abbasi and Khawar being involved in a relationship or planning to tie the knot.
The invitation that went viral online was seemingly shared by a fan page on Twitter on August 20. The account, @HAAbeez_FC, share images of the wedding invitation and wrote: “Breaking news! Hamza Ali Abbasi and Naimal Khawar Khan to tie knot on 25th August 2019.”
Soon after, rumours of the Valima reception (the ceremony conducted after a wedding ceremony) being scheduled on August 26 circulated online.
Fans were quick to react to the news and ‘Hamza Ali Abbasi’ trended on Twitter in Pakistan.
Many like Twitter user @SabaHai45412967, congratulated the couple and appreciated that they kept their relationship out of the limelight: “#HamzaAliAbbasi and #NaimalKhawar were both so low-key about their love relation and even the wedding. So happy for this beautiful couple! May Allah bless them with all the happiness and keep them away from the evil eye. Ameen.”
Tweep, @RanaIbtesam2, posted: “A relationship that is beyond social media. A relationship that does not have to maintain a certain image. The most decent couple right now in the Industry. May Allah protect them from evil eye.”
Some like user @Beenishmuffin were left surprised: “What Hamza is getting married to Naimal. What. Okay they look beautiful but still what?”
Hamza confirms the news
After a day of the image of the invitation circuiting, that fuelled speculations from fans and rumours floating online, the actor took to his various social media accounts to confirm the news on August 21.
He, @iamhamzaabbasi, posted an image with a lengthy message and a picture with Khan on Twitter and wrote: “Yup, it’s true. P.S Massive respect to Naimal for being ok with a Ganja [bald] me on Nikkah.”
In the picture message, the actor thanked God for the relationship he has with Khan and told people to not give up on their quest to finding a partner.
The couple has been spotted together on various occasions in the past, most recently, Abbasi showed up to Khan’s art exhibition recently. After the invitation initially circulated, social media users shared images from the art event of the duo together.
Who is Naimal Khawar Khan?
Khan is a graduate of National College of Arts in Lahore. She is fairly recent in the entertainment industry and got fame from her role in Pakistani drama serial Anaa. She started her acting career with a debut in director Shoaib Mansoor’s 2017 film Verna that also featured actress Mahira Khan.
Khan is also a painter by profession and holds exhibitions to showcase her work. Often, she shares her art pieces on her Instagram account.
