Seoul: South Korea reported 334 new coronavirus cases Thursday, taking its total to 1,595, still the largest in the world outside China, where the disease first emerged.

The Korea Centres for Disease Control and Prevention originally said the death toll remained at 12, until Daegu's mayor announced a new fatality, bringing the toll to 13.
