New York: Police said that a 65-year-old man from Portugal who was found dead in his swank Manhattan hotel room was castrated and beaten.
Police said the body was discovered nude by hotel staff after a worried friend went to check on the victim at the InterContinental New York Times Square hotel.
Police are looking to speak to the victim's acquaintance.
The two checked in to the hotel together on December 29th. The victim was discovered on Friday evening inside of room 3416.
Police said he suffered serious head trauma. The medical examiner's office will determine a cause of death.
The acquaintance was identified as Renato Seabra, also of Portugal.
Police said there are looking to speak to Seabra.
The victim's name has not been released pending notification of family.
