The UAE Football Association (UAE FA) national teams committee selected 45 players for the senior national team and the Olympic team (22 seniors and 23 for the Olympic team).
The national teams committee held a meeting yesterday at the FA premises in Dubai, chaired by Mohammed Mattar Al Muhairi, national teams manager, with the attendance of team manager Abdul Majied Hussain and coach Roy Hodgson.
The senior team will assemble in Dubai on December 13 to prepare for the Zuhair Bakhit testimonial on December 16 against Egypt national team at the Al Wasl stadium.
The Olympic team will assemble on December 20 at Al Ain to train for four days at the Al Ain club stadium.
Hodgson dismissed eight players whom he had selected for the camp held last month in Dubai.
They are: Mohammed Abdullah (Al Ittihad), Rashid Abdul Rahman (Al Shaab), Adil Nasib (Al Jazira), Khalid Darwish (Al Wasl), Qazim Ali and Mohammed Khamis (Al Nasr), Yasir Salim (Al Wahda), Walid Obaid (Al Shabab).
The UAE coach selected four newcomers namely, Ali Messari and Faisal Ali (Al Ain), Hasan Ali Ibrahim (Al Ahli), Tawfiq Abdul Razaq (Al Wahda).
There were also seven players selected to train with both the senior and Olympic teams: Mohammed Qassim, Omer Ali, Ali Messari, Bashir Saeed, Tawfiq Abdul Razaq, Hasan Ali Ibrahim, Faisal Ali.
The senior team:
Goalkeepers: Walid Salim, Jamal Abdullah and Ali Saeed.
Defenders: Fahd Ali, Mohammed Qassim, Abdullah Ali, Humaid Fakher, Bashir Saeed, Jumaa Khater, Omer Ali and Ali Messari.
Midfielders: Abdul Rahim Jumaa, Subait Khater, Fahd Masood, Sultan Rashid, Salim Khamis, Hasan Ali Ibrahim and Tawfiq Abdul Razaq.
Strikers: Mohammed Omer, Mohammed Rashid Suroor, Haydar Allo Ali and Faisal Ali.
The Olympic team:
Goalkeepers: Mohammed Ali Ghuloom and Ismail Rabie.
Defenders: Mussa Mohammed, Khalid Ali, Abdul Aziz Shamis, Khairi Khalfan, Khamis Jaafar, Mohammed Qassim, Ali Messari, Omer Ali and Bashir Saeed.
Midfielders: Nawaf Mubarak, Rami Yasslam, Naser Yousuf, Hasan Ahmed, Tawfiq Abdul Razaq, Hasan Ali Ibrahim, Salah Abbas and Yousuf Abdul Aziz.
Strikers: Walid Murad, Faisal Ali, Faisal Khalil, Issa Ali.
