This is the first time that a youth team from the UAE has ever beaten a side from any of the rugby nations.
"This win is brilliant," skipper Kraemer exulted. "This is all I can say."
"Winning against a rugby playing international team is a real ice-breaker for us," said Cyrus Homayoun, a local UAE national who has been playing rugby for his college for the past couple of years.
Not expecting to come off winners at any point of time, the Dubai College lads did well to open the scoring through a try from skipper Byron Kraemer. Glenalmond replied with a try without conversion from Cameron Smith to make it 7-5 in favour of the local boys.
But Chris Park came up with a fantastic 50-metre run on the wing to put the local lads in the lead once again at 12-5, a scoreline which stayed unchanged till the end.
This is the third straight triumph for the Dubai College lads at the Under-19's tournament of the Dubai Sevens.
"But this year is memorable as we've achieved it against an international rugby playing nation team," said coach Andy Jones.
"The boys have put in a lot of hard work through the summer and they deserve this victory," added the assistant coach, Bede Higgins.
"We're disappointed with this performance. But we always knew it was going to be a tight game. It's the first time we've come here and we want to be here again," said former Lions' player Robert Ackerman, the Glenalmond coach.
